Gli anni piú belli, which means “the most beautiful years”, is a summer Italian film about friendship, family and celebrating life.
Giulio (Pierfrancesco Favino), Gemma (Micaela Ramazzotti), Paolo (Kim Rossi Stuart) and Riccardo (Claudio Santamaria) have been a close group of friends for years. They have known each other since childhood and have been inseparable for 40 years. They met in the 1980s and grew up together. They go through puberty together and see each other grow up. Moments of happiness and love alternate with times of loss and disappointment. In the course of their lives, the four regularly lose sight of each other, to find each other again and again. This friendship unfolds against the background of a decades-long change in their native Italy.
