Witte Flits is the feature film debut of director Laura Hermanides, and the opening film of the 44th Dutch Film Festival 2024. Based on true events, in this movie we follow the lives of Aagje (Renée Soutendijk) and her husband Toon (Raymond Thiry) as they bravely fight for their son Rick (Sanne den Hartogh).

42-year-old Rick has been struggling with serious mental problems for more than 20 years. After an intensive, years-long process, he is given permission for euthanasia. His parents, Aagje and Toon, are now faced with  letting him go for good. Is their love strong enough to support Rick in his deep desire for a dignified ending? What do you do when your son no longer wants to live?
