1755, Denmark. Captain Ludvig Kahlen is determined to tame the Danish heath. He hopes that King Frederick V will give him a royal title, wealth and honor in return for his services. His enemy Frederick de Schinkel disagrees as he points out that Kahlen does not own the land. They start a war, risking Kahlen’s own life and the lives of everyone involved in his community.
