About Sirat

Sirat is a spectacular cinematic journey, combining a missing daughter, desert sand, and Kangding Ray’s electronic beats to create a unique cinematic experience. The Moroccan desert forms the impressive backdrop of this perilous quest, with several memorable moments that definitively put Spanish director Oliver Laxe (Mimosas) on the map.

Luis arrives with his son Esteban at an illegal rave deep in the southern Moroccan desert. He is searching for his daughter Mar, who disappeared months ago during one of these unbridled parties. Desperate for a final trace of Mar, they follow a group of ravers even deeper into the desert. This becomes a physical and spiritual journey, accompanied by a hypnotic soundtrack. Sirat won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Besides actor Sergi López (Pan’s Labyrinth, Lazzaro Felice), Oliver Laxe has chosen to work with an inexperienced cast.
