About A Family
A compelling family drama about the impact a contentious divorce has on family life. The role of mother Maria is played by Carice van Houten (Black Book, Instinct) and Pieter Embrechts (Instinct, Stromboli) plays father Jacob.
Trapped in the struggle of their parents’ divorce, Nina and Eli retreat into their own world, torn between loyalty, anger, and the desire to be seen. From two mirroring perspectives, a single story unfolds that shows how love can break and yet find its way home. A Family is the second feature film by Peijnenburg (Paradise Drifters) and had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, where he received a Special Mention in the Generation section.
