About La petite dernière
La Petite Dernière is the new film by actress and director Hafsia Herzi (Bonne mère); a warm coming-of-age portrait of Fatima, the youngest daughter in a French-Alegrinian family. At the crossroads between adolescence and adulthood, she discovers her sexuality and identity.
17-year-old Fatima (Nadia Melliti) leaves the suburbs to study in the city. She discovers a world where she can be queer, but also realizes that she does not know how to relate to her faith now. Inner turmoil and outward aloofness mark her. Then she meets nurse Ji-Na (Park Ji-min) and falls truly in love for the first time.
At the Cannes Film Festival, lead actress Nadia Melliti won the Best Actress award, and the film was awarded the Queer Palm. During the Pink Film Days, La Petite Dernière was awarded the Jury Award for Best Feature.
