About Primavera
The Italian period drama Primavera tells the story of an encounter between two searching souls: Cecilia, a young and talented violinist and orphan seeking her own identity, and the composer Antonio Vivaldi, a man swept up by his own creativity and Cecilia’s talent.
Venice, 18th century. Twenty-year-old Cecilia (Tecla Insolia) is a talented violinist who has spent most of her life at the Ospedale della Pietà orphanage. Art has opened her eyes, but not the doors of the orphanage; it is the only place where she can perform—hidden behind a grille from wealthy patrons. Marriage seems to be the only way out. Cecilia’s life changes when a new violin teacher gives her a glimpse of a different existence. His name is Antonio Vivaldi (Michele Riondino). Under his guidance, she finds the courage to break free and pursue her own musical passion.
